Piero De Martini was born in 1939 and graduated in architecture in 1964. He dedicated himself to freelance work in residential construction and conservation restoration. He became involved in design in 1969, and in 1975 began his collaboration with Cassina. The La Barca series was born from this collaboration, resulting in a series of tables, sofas and beds in natural ash. Thanks to a hinge system, the La Barca table can be divided along its width, allowing for greater flexibility and adaptation to different environments.
