Helena Frantova Chinese lamp Czechoslovakia - 1954
Designed by Czech artist and jewellery designer Helena Frantová, a graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), this iconic lamp was originally created as her graduation project before being put into serial production by Okolo. Nicknamed “The Chinese Lamp” for its wide conical shade reminiscent of a traditional Asian hat, it became one of the most iconic lighting designs produced in post-war Czechoslovakia.
