VERNER PANTON "BACHELOR" CHAIR FRITZ HANSEN - DENMARK - 1950's

The “Bachelor” Chair has been known as being the first success of Verner Panton. This chair’s design and construction are both quite straightforward. It consists of a slung seat and a tubular steel frame.

This is an original Fritz Hansen work that was created in 1953. The chair was marketed toward businesses but was also known as “Bachelor” chairs because they were intended for starting homes. Its “knockdown” design and straightforward construction made it a viable export product. Two intermediate struts connect the N-shaped side segment to the main section.

The chair has been reupholstered.
