“BACHELOR” CHAIR
VERNER PANTON "BACHELOR" CHAIR FRITZ HANSEN - DENMARK - 1950's
The “Bachelor” Chair has been known as being the first success of Verner Panton. An original Fritz Hansen work designed and created in 1953. The chair was marketed toward businesses, and known as “Bachelor” chair because they were intended for starting homes. The chair’s design and construction are both quite straightforward. It consists of a slung seat and a tubular steel frame. Its “knockdown” design and straight forward construction made it a viable export product. Two intermediate struts connect the N-shaped side segment to the main section.
