Nestled in the heart of the city, this ground-floor apartment underwent a rigorous compositional transformation, culminating in a contemporary living space that effortlessly exudes light, texture, intimacy, and domesticity. A unique challenge was presented by the original design, with a long mono space facing the garden and limited options for storage and functional living areas. A more versatile layout was thus created through a whole kitchen cabinet and storage unit along the existing wall, freeing up the living and sleeping areas. The resulting design masterfully balances form and function, serving its practical purposes while engaging its inhabitants.

The task of bringing natural light into the apartment and reestablishing a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces was approached with careful consideration of the context and uniform design intention. The execution was precise, fully opening up the space to the city and creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. The interior carpentry was a key architectural element in the renovation, grouping the bedroom and bathroom and reversing the existing rooms to bathe the apartment in natural light that glimmers through the toilet and bathroom, aligning with the minimalist bedroom.

The kitchen, with its full equipment and minimalist approach, brings together both day and night spaces and allows for depth in the room. Through a thoughtful and skillful design approach, this space has been optimized to enhance functionality and flexibility. Movable furniture and an open living room layout allow the space to adapt to the changing needs of its inhabitants, while seamlessly integrating with the surrounding environment to create a harmonious and serene atmosphere. This transformation is a testament to an intentional collaborative effort, involving the client, craftsmen, and design team.
