Cees Braakman began his career as a designer very early and he left for the United States to deepen his knowledge in design. His wish was to design furniture that met functional needs while being aesthetic. He marked the history of Dutch design with the geometric shapes and innovative technology of his creations. A stunning set of birch andplywood chairs with upholstery made of velvet fabric, designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe in the 1950’s.
