Mathieu Mategot Metal Tray France 1950's
Circular tray in black lacquered metal, featuring an openwork structure with clover-shaped perforations and a twisted metal rim.
A pioneer of French postwar design, Mathieu Matégot revolutionised everyday objects by combining functionality with artistic expression. His innovative exploration of perforated sheet metal led to the creation of “Rigitulle” in 1952, a technique that allowed metal to be folded and sculpted with the fluidity of fabric.
