VICO MAGISTRETTI «FIANDRA» SOFA ITALY - 1975

The ‘Fiandra’ modular 2-seater sofa has been reupholstered with a linen fabric, designed in 1975 by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, Italy. It provides great comfort and both pieces can be placed as wished.
Vico Magistretti was born in Milan in 1920. After graduating in architecture in 1945, he joined his father’s studio and worked on various design and architectural projects. He quickly gained recognition in the design world, receiving the Grand Prix of the VIII Triennale in 1948. This was the first of many awards, more than forty in all! He teaches at numerous design schools and lectures around the world: Milan, New York, Paris and London. Many of the lamps and objects he designed during his lifetime are to be found in the permanent collections of major museums, and have also been the subject of exhibitions.
