Paolo Deganello for the Archizoom Group by Cassina PAIR OF "Aeo" Lounge Chairs ITALY - 1973
Designed by Paolo Deganello in 1973, the AEO Lounge Chair is an iconic piece of the Italian Radical Design movement and one of the last projects developed by the Archizoom collective, of which Deganello was a founding member. Its innovative construction combines a painted steel frame, a molded seat, and a removable fabric cover, creating a lightweight and modular design.
Instead of relying on heavy upholstery, the chair achieves comfort through the flexibility of its materials and its enveloping shape. Produced by Cassina, the AEO reflects the experimental spirit of the 1970s, blending functionality, versatility, and bold aesthetics.
